Falling

I stepped into the elevator, the doors closed gently and I pushed the flickering Lobby button. Moving to the back of the car, I stood waiting for the elevator car to move. It started it's decent to the ground. I felt a blue vibration coming up from the floor and looked down. The floor dissolved and I fell into the blackness of space.

Looking down I saw the distant spiral arms of a rotating galaxy. It looked like water swirling and rushing down the open drain of a bathtub. I fell faster and faster towards the brilliant stars. My body stretched into a thin strand of shimmering light. I heard a voice say "let him go, it is not his time."
